The colorful effects are what make up 80% of its gayness. However if you desaturate your display and give it more contrast, you got yourself a really grim game.

I used to play a lot of Starcraft and Command & Conquer (Tiberian Dawn, Sun, Firestorm, Red Alert, and hopefully the 3rd Tiberian instalment). I also played a lot of the original Civilization. It was easy to edit the game, so I could play as Norway, and crush those French faggots.

You could also edit units, so I imagine someone could take the time to create necrolytes, the Necrowizard, a necroyeti and other blasphemous creatures of the snow.

When you talked about editin units, I thought Civ2 too. I never took the time to edit the first instalment.

Altough Civ had grim 320x240 graphics, and Civ2 was made of 2D sprites [grim as fuck, remember Doom? Heretic 2 anyone?] I played Civ2 Test of Time the most. I must say it is the grimest, for editing it was harder than the Multiplayer Gold edition.

I made a civ called the heathens with it onece, used all kinds of trve names and put them on a land-mass like Northrend in W3...

The first Heretic is quite grim, anyway. Almost anything that was done using Doom engine is grim: Doom, Heretic, Hexen... All these games are pretty blasphemous.

I don't know any. try looking some up on forums and reviews, and download them through a torrent of DC++...

However, I remember moding the game so i could pass the chapter levels easily. it envolved modifying studd in the file "DATA.TFT" or something like that... shouldn't be hrd to find in the game's folders...

Be careful though, the bitcount has to be the same. The amout of data you add, has to be taken away: of you turn 10 into 10000, you'll have to delete 3 characters from some other value...

Try looking for a "blood-patch" on the net, it converts the zombies into humans
